A judge on Wednesday sentenced a Colorado woman to three years of probation and ordered her to repay $154,900 to the South Elgin company she stole from in 2015.
Cindy Clark, 60, of Grand Junction, Colo., pleaded guilty in May to felony theft in connection to money she took from Custom Aluminum Products without its knowledge or the authority to do so. In court filings, prosecutors indicated the company did not know of Clark at the time of the May 2015 theft. Clark’s guilty plea came shortly before she was scheduled to stand trial on the charges which were filed in July 2015.
In addition to probation and the restitution, Judge Linda Abrahamson ordered Clark to perform 100 hours of community service, while also allowing her to return to Colorado.
Clark faced the possibility of prison time, but was eligible for probation under sentencing guidelines.
