A man was killed and at least 16 others, including a 14-year-old girl, were wounded in Chicago over 16 hours Sunday afternoon through early Monday, police said.
The fatal shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Gregory Chacon, 19, was shot in the chest and arm around 3:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.
Chacon, of the 4300 block of South California Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Sweeney said. Further details were not available.
Shortly before 6 a.m. Monday, a civilian employee of the Chicago Police Department shot and wounded a person who tried to rob him in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, authorities said. The shooting took place in the 1300 block of South Sawyer Avenue. A condition on the suspect was not available.
About 2:30 a.m., three men were wounded in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The men were sitting in a vehicle in traffic in the 3500 block of South Indiana Avenue when someone in a black SUV fired at them, police said.
A 39-year-old man was shot in the head and in the left leg, and he was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
A 32-year-old man was shot in the left shoulder and was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized. Another 32-year-old man was hit in the left hand, and his condition was stabilized at Mercy Hospital, police said.
Around the same time but on the Far South Side, a 44-year-old man was wounded in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said.
The man was driving east on 119th Street near Lafayette Avenue when someone in a black sedan pulled up and fired, police said. The man was hit in the left shin and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

* Around 1:30 a.m., a 35-year-old man was wounded in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The man was driving an SUV south on Calumet Avenue near 51st Street when he was shot in the left thigh. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
* About 1:10 a.m., a 14-year-old girl was wounded in the 6800 block of South Perry Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The girl was walking with a group of people on the sidewalk when a female in the group fired a shot, hitting the girl in the left side of the forehead. She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.
* Around 11:55 p.m. Sunday, a 19-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys were wounded in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said. The three were walking on the sidewalk in the 6800 block of South Perry Avenue when they were hit, police said.
The man was shot in the right shoulder and right thigh. One of the 17-year-olds was shot in the left leg. The second 17-year-old was struck in the right buttocks All three were taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

* Around 10:45 p.m., a 20-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
The man was standing in an alley in the 1300 block of South Sawyer Avenue when he was struck in the right leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
* Around 10:35 p.m., a 21-year-old man was wounded in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 300 block of South Kildare Avenue when someone in a black sedan fired shots. He was hit in the right shoulder and armpit and was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
* About 8 p.m., a 20-year-old man was wounded in the 8500 block of South Ashland Avenue in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.
Someone walked up to the man and fired, striking him multiple times. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Alfaro said. The shooting possibly occurred during an attempted robbery, police said.
* About 7 p.m., a 27-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, Alfaro said.
The man was in the 10300 block of South Michigan Avenue when he heard gunshots and was struck in the leg. He was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Alfaro said.
* About 4:10 p.m. in the 7800 block of South Hamilton Avenue in the Ashburn neighborhood, a 22-year-old man was shot and went to Holy Cross Hospital, Alfaro said. He was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. He was shot in the side of the body, and police said he was being uncooperative.
* Another person was shot about 2:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 48th Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Sweeney said.
The 27-year-old was in the back of a residence when a vehicle approached and a gunman fired shots that hit the man in the arm, foot and grazed him in the chest, Sweeney said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
The assailant got back into the vehicle and sped away, Sweeney said. No one was arrested, but detectives are investigating.
