For the past two years, the festival set up its temporary store at Block 37, in the heart of Chicago’s Loop. The store was earlier at 332 S. Michigan Ave. near Grant Park, the site of the music festival.
“For our fifth year, we couldn’t be more excited to be in the heart of the world-renowned Mag Mile,” said Roni Schanbaum, LollaShop merchandise manager.
Temporary stores are “always at the mercy of availability,” she said when asked about the reason for the move.
“While we love Block 37, there simply wasn’t a space available for us this year,” Schanbaum said.
This year’s shop will include items from Lollapalooza headliners Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers that fans won’t find in Grant Park, she said.
The store is open to music fans who want a Lollapalooza T-shirt without having to go to the festival, which is scheduled July 28 to 31. The store will be open until Aug. 1.
