Jason Day
He can hit bombs off the tee, drop wedges with a parachute and make triple-breaking putts. But can the top-ranked Aussie hit it low enough to thrive on a windswept course?
Jordan Spieth
His commentary during his preshot routine is golden. But cognizant of complaints about slow play, Spieth says he’s adopting a quicker, “gunslinging” approach that might ease tension.
Dustin Johnson
Remember how Day dominated the second half of last season? Now it feels like Johnson’s turn. His lethal combo is Tiger-esque ball-striking and a clear head.
Sergio Garcia
He has 20 victories on the PGA and European tours and nine top-10s in 19 British Opens. Will Garcia go down as the modern-day Colin Montgomerie (no majors) or finally break through?
Branden Grace
