Pleasant House Pub, the sequel to the just-shuttered Pleasant House Bakery, opens Thursday at 10 a.m. in the transformed former Nightwood space in Pilsen, said co-owner and co-chef Art Jackson via Facebook Messenger. This will be a soft opening, Jackson said.
Jackson and Pleasant House pastry chef Chelsea Jackson (the two are husband and wife) will be serving their housemade pastries at the new pub, along with wood-fired bread baked by head baker Wesley Ervin, previously at Publican Quality Bread and Husk restaurant in Nashville.

The food menu will include sandwiches and a Friday fish fry, and Pleasant House Pub beers will be brewed by just-opened Whiner. The pub’s coffee, from Four Letter Word, is roasted by Whiner co-founder Ria Neri.
The Jacksons closed Pleasant House Bakery in Bridgeport on June 11, after five years in business. During the move the Jacksons continued to work out of The Plant, the food-production space in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, offering baked goods at farmers markets.
