Fan favorite, emotional leader, outsized personality Joakim Noah verbally agreed Friday to sign with the New York Knicks, a week after the team parted with Derrick Rose. Noah’s decision to remain in college and not enter the NBA draft pays off as he helps Florida become the first team in 15 years to repeat as tournament champs. In the title game, Noah has eight points and three rebounds during 84-75 victory over Ohio State.

In a shocking move, Bulls teammates vote unanimously to increase a one-game suspension handed down from the team to the 22-year-old Noah for verbally abusing assistant coach Ron Adams during a morning shootaround to a two-game ban. “I mean, I just have to accept it,” Noah says. “What do you want me to say? I’m a rookie. … I mean, it is what it is.”
