A woman in her 90s died after a fire broke out at a house early Wednesday in west suburban Bellwood, authorities said.
The blaze started around 2:30 a.m. at a one-story house in the 3300 block of Wilcox Street, said Andre Harvey, Bellwood’s director of public safety.
The fire started in a bedroom, Harvey said. No one else was injured, and several people were displaced, Harvey said.

The cause is still under investigation.
