A: I just moved here. I came from the northwest suburbs. I work in Maywood teaching sixth-grade math.
Q: What’s the best part about teaching?
A: Like any profession, you have moments where you have a great amount of frustration, but it’s counterbalanced by the kids getting it. It makes it all worth it.
Q: Have a favorite local restaurant yet?
A: It’d have to be Lou Malnati’s right now. We have gone to George’s Family Restaurant a couple times. It’s a nice place for breakfast.
Q: Last movie you saw?
A: Had to have been “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” It started with what I thought was a sound premise for a conflict, but the resolution … doesn’t make sense.
Q: Words you live by?
A: Never give up. I’m a basketball coach by nature. One of the things we talk about is loving the grind, and making yourself better. That doesn’t have to do with sports only.
Q: What do you think of Oak Park so far?
A: It’s a nice community. I’m kind of enjoying it right now. Coming from the northwest suburbs, you have to drive everywhere. This is a little bit different for me. I’m trying to learn more about it.
