To help its students and area residents, South Suburban College is hosting a job fair on Tuesday.
The fair, which also is co-sponsored with Thornton Township, will be 10 a.m – 2 p.m. at the college’s fitness center, 15800 South State St., South Holland.
The event is free and open to the public.
“The community job fair is an excellent for employers to recruit upcoming South Suburban College graduates, alumni, current students and local area community residents,” said Maryland Eggleston, career development coordinator at South Suburban College. “The job fair is not just limited to college students.”
“Eggleston added: “Job fairs give both people who are currently attending college at South Suburban and people who are living within the community hope … A lot of people are having difficulty finding employment.”
Last year’s job fair attracted more than 2,000 people searching for a job, Eggleston said.
About 40 employers are expected to attend this year’s event.
