While on her way into the Oak Park Public Library on May 15, Katie Wynne, 26, of Oak Park stopped to answer a few questions for the Oak Leaves.

Q: What are you up to today?

A: Going to the library. Studying for medical school.

Q: What are you studying to be?

A: A pediatrician. I just like working with kids. They’re more interesting. I’m finishing up my third year at Midwestern University in Downers Grove.

Q: Has it been what you thought so far?

A: Yeah. Probably harder and longer, but it’s been good.

Q: Favorite local restaurant?

A: I think our new favorite is Nando’s Peri-Peri. We’ve been four times now, and they opened a week and a half ago!

Q: Pets?

A: One cat: Mad-Eye Moody. His eyes are kind of crazy.

Q: Charity of choice?

A: We donate to Animal Care League since we got our cat there.

Q: Favorite spring activity?

A: We like going to the farmers market on Lake Street. And tennis in Scoville Park. We live close by.

Q: Travel destination of choice?

A: We’re planning a trip to Thailand at the beginning of July. I’ve never been. It is one stop on the list. I’m excited about the culture, the food, relaxing. I love Thai food.
