Four juveniles have been charged in connection with three robberies last Thursday in Waukegan, police said.

The four were arrested near Archer and George avenues when an officer found them about 3 p.m. Friday in a stolen vehicle believed to be driven by at least one of the suspects, Waukegan Police Cmdr. Joe Florip said.

All four were charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of armed robbery. One was also charged in the theft of the vehicle, Florip said. Their names are not being released because they are minors.

According to Waukegan police, masked robbers exited a vehicle and robbed three pedestrians. None of the victims were injured.

The first robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. Thursday when a juvenile walking home from school was robbed near Butrick Street and Catalpa Avenue, police said.

No weapon was displayed in that robbery, but two other victims reported guns were displayed.

About 6 p.m. Thursday, an adult told police a group of masked robbers approached near Brookside Avenue and Edison Court and took cash and personal property at gunpoint. The final robbery happened about 20 minutes later when a group in masks stole personal property at gunpoint near Butrick Street and Lucia Avenue, police said.

All three victims reported the robbers came and fled in a black SUV or van. Police later identified the vehicle as a black Lexus SUV.
