Eddie Wineland has fond memories of Chicago. Not only does the UFC bantamweight fighter train in suburban Niles part-time, his last victory came at the United Center in January 2014.

The northwest Indiana resident and full-time firefighter now has a chance to start a winning streak at the UC after losing his past two bouts. The UFC announced this week that Wineland (21-11-1) will take on Frankie Saenz (11-3) on July 23; the event will air on Fox.

Wineland is the 15th-ranked bantamweight and can climb a few spots by defeating No. 13 Saenz.

In 2014, Wineland took down Yves Jabouin with a second-round TKO. Incidentally, the 31-year-old also is a big fan of “ALF.”

The UFC previously announced six other fights for the July 23 card:

Suburban Chicago native Felice Herrig vs. Kailin Curran (strawweight)

Tony Martin vs. Michel Prazeres (lightweight)

Ryan LaFlare vs. Alexander Yakovlev (welterweight)

Hector Urbina vs. George Sullivan (welterweight)

Alex Oliveira vs. James Moontasri (welterweight)

Luis Henrique vs. Dmitry Smolyakov (heavyweight)
