A 50-year-old Indiana man was found dead, shot in the head, early Thursday morning in Chicago Heights, police said.

Brian McGee, of the 100 block of Illinois Street in LaCrosse, was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. Thursday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

McGee was found shot inside a blue Ford pickup parked on Portland Avenue, authorities said, and pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted Friday determined that he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Chicago Heights police officers said they found McGee after receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 block of Portland Ave.

Chicago Heights police and officers from the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Chicago Heights detective division at 708-756-6422.
