The players selected in the NFL draft usually are overcome with emotions right after they’re called onstage. They’re also all about saying the right things, even if those words often are the same as everyone else’s.
Below is a word cloud gleaned from the press conferences of 18 of the NFL Draft’s first-round picks. We plucked the 50 words used most often; “great” was used the most, at 61 times total.
Seeing as they’re all eager to impress their new teams, it’s no surprise that “work” was the second-most used word. Same goes for the fact that seven of the 18 players used the phrase “I’m ready” and four called their respective opportunities “a dream come true.”
No doubt they’re all going to do a plethora of similar interviews between now and training camp, so it’s good to get the first ones out of the way.
