While in Scoville Park on April 3, David O’Connell, 61, of Chicago answered a few questions for the Oak Leaves.

Q: What brings you to Oak Park today?

A: Taking photos.

Q: Just a hobby?

A: Yes.

Q: Any particular subjects?

A: Anything that hits my eye: houses, flowers. A couple of the really nice Frank Lloyd Wright houses. I’ve been doing it on and off for quite a while, 30 years or so.

Q: Cubs or White Sox?

A: I think I’m going to have to go with the Cubs even though I’m a South Sider. They’ve got the best chance.

Q: Favorite thing about spring?

A: The colors, the flowers. Everything. The colors come back. It’s pretty dull in the winter.

Q: Favorite book genre?

A: I read true crimes, like “Vegas Rag Doll” and “Vinny Gorgeous: The Ugly Rise and Fall of a New York Mobster.”

Q: Travel destination of choice?

A: Downtown Chicago. That’s about as far as I go.

Q: Last movie you saw?

A: “Pawn Sacrifice,” about Bobby Fisher. He was paranoid and a little unhinged, but a great chess player.
