Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear these “Crying Jordan” sneakers from Crying Kicks, which bills itself as an art project by Sherman Winfield and Andrew Weiss.
For those of you who have been living under a rock this year (if so, how did you find this article?), no meme has been more ubiquitous than the “Crying Jordan Face.” The perfect image to accompany any sports failure or failure in general, the pic spoofs Michael Jordan’s emotional Hall of Fame acceptance speech. Whether you’re making fun of the 1995-96 Bulls’ now-broken wins record or Jordan himself watching an NCAA tournament game, this meme makes everything so much funnier. See what I mean?

While we want these kicks to be a hilarious addition to our sneaker collection, unfortunately they won’t be going on sale anytime soon, if ever. In February, Jordan’s reps told TMZ that while the legendary basketball player and mediocre executive is cool with the meme, they don’t want anyone making money off of it: “We haven’t seen anyone using it to promote their commercial interests, which is something that we’re monitoring.”
Though that’s a bummer, you should still laugh at more images of the sneakers below or at Crying Kicks’ Tumblr.
