Two Cook County sheriff’s officers were injured and another person was hurt in a three-vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway near west suburban Forest Park on Thursday evening, according to authorities.

A Cook County sheriff’s vehicle and two other vehicles crashed around 10:30 p.m. on Interstate 290 in the eastbound lanes between Harlem and Desplaines avenues, according to Illinois State Police.

Two officers were inside the sheriff’s vehicle, and both were taken to Loyola University Medical Center with minor injuries, according to state police.

A third person, who was in one of the other two vehicles, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the crash occurred. The crash is still under investigation.
