A person was seriously injured when a car crashed into a Walgreens in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side, authorities said.

A silver Acura slammed into the store at 7150 W. Archer Ave. about 3:45 a.m., Chicago Fire Department spokesman Jeff Lyle said.

The person, whose age and gender were not immediately available, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, Lyle said.

Lyle said the city’s building department was called to inspect the safety of the structure.

No other information about the crash was immediately available.
