Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

If some strange part of you has the desire to run 26 miles in a row (no stopping!), now is your time to act. The 39th annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon will close its applications for prospective runners on Tuesday, April 12.

The application period opened March 8, so if you’re still trying to talk yourself into–or out of–running in the marathon come Oct. 9, it’s time to decide, folks. The race is only a little more than 184 days away, according to the countdown on the marathon’s website, you know.

Prospective runners can apply for guaranteed entry (legacy finishers, time qualifiers and charity- or partner-sponsored runners) or non-guaranteed entry. Non-guaranteed runners will be placed into a drawing and randomly selected. Those runners will know their fate by April 21.

The cost of entry is $185 for U.S. residents and $210 for nonresidents. Runners from all 50 states and 100 countries ran in the marathon last year.

In 2015, 37,459 brave souls ran the marathon through Chicago’s streets for bragging rights (and charity). Now’s your time to decide if you’re ready to join their ranks.
