Bail was set at $30,000 Wednesday for an Alsip man accused of robbing a doughnut shop with a fake gun.

Alejandro Rico, 24, is charged with felony aggravated robbery, felony aggravated fleeing and eluding police and misdemeanor criminal damage to property, prosecutors said.

Rico is accused of pulling a porcelain handgun Tuesday on an employee of Dunkin’ Donuts, 12150 S. Cicero Ave. in Alsip, and grabbing more than $100 in cash from the register, authorities said.

When police arrived, Rico fled in a car before crashing in the front yard of a home in the 4200 block of West 117th Street in Alsip and damaging the landscape.

No one was reported injured.

“He could have been shot,” said Cook County Judge Peter Felice. “Someone could have been hurt.”

Felice ordered Rico not to return to the Dunkin’ Donuts as a condition of bail.

Rico returns to Bridgeview court on May 3.
