Q: What brings you out here today?

A: I work at Hephzibah Home. I’m a child care worker. I’m out with a group of kids today.

Q: Is that a job you always wanted to pursue?

A: I kind of knew I wanted to do social work-type stuff for a while. I do really enjoy working there.

Q: What’s most rewarding about the position?

A: Just seeing them grow and make progress is definitely the highlight of it for sure.

Q: Any favorite spots around town?

A: We love going to Red Mango. The Lake Street Theatre is a favorite.

Q: Favorite thing about spring?

A: Thunderstorms. I love watching the weather change. I took a meteorology course when I was younger. I really loved weather.

Q: Any pets?

A: Two turtles and two dogs. The dogs are both mixes: one’s a black lab mix and the other is a collie mix.

Q: Travel destination of choice?

A: Oh, the Bahamas, for sure. I’ve been once but I want to go again for sure.

Q: Words you live by?

A: The tenets of taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.

Q: Is taekwondo a hobby of yours?

A: Yeah, I’ve been doing it since I was 8 years old. I’m a fourth degree black belt. I recently earned the title of master.

Q: Cubs or White Sox?

A: White Sox, for sure.
