Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Like with a lot of us, even musicians get songs stuck in their head. Maybe the key to writing profound lyrics and performing memorable shows lies in having those songs in common. Or maybe not.

In addition to picking their musical minds, RedEye asks five Chicago artists to give us their jingle dream job and to try and explain the phenomenon that is Justin Bieber.

The panelists: Miranda Winters of Melkbelly, rapper ShowYouSuck, hip-hop artist Joey Purp of the Leather Corduroys, rapper HXLT and rapper Kweku Collins.

Describe the feeling you get after you put on a great show, using your own lyrics.

Miranda Winters

(Melkbelly plays Front Woman Fest on April 9): “I can see the biggest holes in the middle of our earth and now I don’t know where to go.”

ShowYouSuck: I feel like I’ve helped achieve world peace after I put on a great show. I’m sure those are my lyrics in some song; I have too many to remember.

Joey Purp: “Like I’m waking up and still seeing dreams.”

HXLT: “All I ever wanted to be was perfect. So I try. Together we can.”

Kweku Collins (new album “Nat Love” drops April 8): “Are you aware that we in here? No longer I’m anonymous.”

Tell us the artist with whom you’d most like to collaborate.

Miranda Winters: Choosing one is impossible. Kim Gordon, Steve Albini, Matthew Barney, Missy Elliott, Sleep, Senga Nengudi, David Altmejd, Kate Bush. Just to name a few.

ShowYouSuck: I’d say Chaz Budnick of Toro y Moi, “Anything in Return” may just be my favorite album of all time.

Joey Purp: Easily Lil Wayne. Close second is Lou Reed.

HXLT: Pharrell, cuz he’s been fresh and he still fresh.

Kweku Collins: Sade.

Which song are you happy to have stuck in your head?

Miranda Winters: “Cool” by Pylon.

ShowYouSuck: Either “Call Me Maybe” or anything from “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Joey Purp: “Voodoo” by Frank Ocean.

HXLT: “Where ya at” by Future and Drake.

Kweku Collins: “Part iv” by Isaiah Rashad.

What company or product would you love to write a jingle for and why?

Miranda Winters: Toothpaste or toilet paper because they’re intimate, essential and potentially gross.

ShowYouSuck: I’d say Crocs and actually I’ve already done it, haha.

Joey Purp: Damn it would have to be Levi’s, because it’s a classic American lifestyle brand. I feel it’d be organic.

HXLT: GoPro, because it would be high-action and intense.

Kweku Collins: Chevy. That’s a solid truck there. It’s that diner comfort, dusty road vibe. I love it.

Any chance you can explain the enigma that is Justin Bieber to the rest of us?

Miranda Winters: Sorry, no. I don’t touch the stuff.

ShowYouSuck: Justin Bieber is art, pure misunderstood art, those who don’t understand the Bieber don’t understand what it is to be free.

Joey Purp: Never underestimate the power of the white dude with black dance moves.

HXLT: He’s a talented kid growing up in the spotlight who finally found his lane. Props.

Kweku Collins: I wish I could.
