Glen Ellyn police recently made two weapons-related arrests.

Police found a .357 magnum and ammunition for a 9mm pistol after searching a Chicago man’s car following a traffic stop on March 17, police said.

Officers pulled over David Jamal AbdulKarim, 27, of the 2000 block of West Lunt Avenue, after receiving complaints of a motorist displaying a firearm on Roosevelt Road, police said.

The firearm displayed turned out to be a BB gun, but a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up the handgun and ammunition, police said. A hatchet was also discovered in the vehicle, Glen Ellyn police said.

AbdulKarim was charged with aggravated/unlawful use of a weapon or vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm, police said.

In another firearm-involved incident, Adam James Seger, 18, of the 1700 block of Luna Avenue in Chicago, was charged with unlawful restraint and aggravated use of a deadly weapon on March 12, Glen Ellyn police said.

Police allege Seger held two men at gunpoint after a drug deal did not yield the product he wanted. According to police, Seger forced the two men to drive him to Glen Ellyn to get the drugs. After he let them go, the two men, who were not charged, told Glen Ellyn police about Seger. Seger was picked up by police in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road.
