The (second) eagle has landed.

The much-anticipated arrival of a second eaglet in a Washington D.C. nest happened Sunday morning. DC3 hatched before 8 a.m. Sunday at the U.S. National Arboretum in the Nation’s Capital.

DC2 hatched March 18 high in a tulip poplar tree, where the nest — belonging to ‘Mr. President’ and ‘The First Lady’ — sits, watched closely by a pair of live webcams featured at eagles.org.

The eaglets were obscured by one of the larger eagles during much of the early mornign webcast, but both little birds appeared briefly before 9 a.m. for a feeding.

DC3 is the third eaglet born in the nest, following the hatching of DC1 last year.
