player ready...An Aurora man recently charged in a 2014 shooting also stands accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2015, according to Aurora police.
Andres Fonseca, 21, and a second man, Stephawn A. Johnson, 21, of Chicago, each face eight counts of criminal sexual assault and single counts of attempted criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse and theft. Each are being held in Kane County Jail, Fonseca on $1 million bail and Johnson on $290,750 bail.
In the sex assault case, police said a 19-year-old Aurora woman met with a male acquaintance, a second man, Fonseca and Johnson at an unspecified location in May 2015 before the group went to party at an apartment in the 600 block of South Lincoln. While there, Johnson offered the woman what he described to be Xanax, which she took and said made her feel drowsy and weak, according to police. When the acquaintance and the other man left the apartment to buy alcohol, Johnson and Fonseca allegedly assaulted the woman and took her cell phone, police said, adding that the woman was treated at an Aurora hospital.
The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force arrested both men on March 9. Fonseca was arrested in Aurora, and Johnson was arrested in Chicago. Court information for Johnson was not immediately known. Fonseca is currently scheduled to appear in court on April 1 on attempted murder and attempted robbery charges stemming from a November 2014 shooting.
