Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Paul Bazan, 47, of Chicago, answered a few questions for the Oak Leaves while at the Paul Hruby Ice Arena at the Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex.

Q: What brings you here today?

A: My daughter plays hockey with the Oak Park Ice Bears. She’s liking it.

Q: What’s been the most enjoyable part of this for you?

A: Just to see her develop as a player. This is her first team sport.

Q: What’s your Oak Park connection?

A: I went to Fenwick High School. The lifelong friends I made and the education I got was second to none in my book.

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?

A: A chef. I’m a tax accountant, so not even close [laughs].

Q: Are you a big home cook?

A: Yeah. I really like barbecue in general, so I make a lot of steak.

Q: Travel destination of choice?

A: Right now, Disney World. We’ve been three times. Especially with having a 9-year-old.

Q: Any pets?

A: Cats.

Q: How many?

A: Six. Rizzo, Chocolate, White Fluff, Rosie, Stella and Oscar. I married a cat person.
