The pants feel soft like cotton, but the high-tech, breathable material wicks away moisture and dries quickly. The legs can be rolled up and buttoned to wear as capris. Colors come in gray, khaki and olive. The Men’s Pick-Pocket Proof Adventure Travel Pants are similar but cost a little more at $110.
The good: Multi-secure pockets and an option to wear them long or as capris make these versatile pants an asset on just about any trip. With its third generation of travel pants for women, Clothing Arts has hit a home run, from the fit to the hidden-pocket design. On a weekend trip, these are the only pants I need. I use the small, hidden Velcro pocket to hold medication. I can tuck away my wallet, smartphone and an action camera in the pockets and go sightseeing, purse-free. And if my muffin-top starts to grow, the adjustable waistband is forgiving until I get home and shed my vacation fat.
The bad: A tiny bit of spandex in the waistband would keep it from feeling binding after sitting for several hours.
