An 84-year-old Oak Lawn man is dead after being struck by a sport utility vehicle Friday.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was making a legal turn onto Pulaski Road from 103rd Street while James Nassin was crossing against the red light when he was struck shortly after 5 p.m., according to Oak Lawn police.

No charges have been filed, police said.

The Oak Lawn Police Accident Reconstruction Unit determined the vehicle was stopped and facing westbound at the light before making the turn and that the man was crossing Pulaski Road.

Nassin died of multiple injuries and his death was ruled an accident, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
