“Shitty Punk Album,” the first project from Chicago’s the Rapper Chicks, might only be three songs long, but it packs the raucous punch of any full-length. The supergroup, featuring local MCs Psalm One (aka Hologram Kizzie), Angel Davanport, Fluffy and Canadian producer Ill-Esha, deserves to take over the city’s hip-hop scene–at least for today, until the new Kanye arrives–with this impressive debut, which is exclusively streaming below at RedEye.
“The Rapper Chicks is the idea that women are thoughtful, vulgar and unapologetically gonna get shit wrong until we get it right,” the group recently told Vice. “We can change the world simply because our voices haven’t been heard.” You can hear that confidence throughout the three tracks on “Shitty Punk Album,” which includes collaborations with ProbCause and Three Six Mafia’s Gangsta Boo on the incredible “Rules and Regulations.” Listen below.
