A man tried to force open the front door in a residential burglary in Western Springs, according to police.
Police are investigating the burglary that took place at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 in the 4700 block of Howard Avenue, according to a news release.
An unidentified man tried to force open the front entry door while the house was occupied, police said. The burglar fled when another resident of the house arrived home.
Police said the man got into a silver sedan with temporary Illinois license plates, possibly starting with the numbers 450. The car traveled north on Howard and east on to 47th Street.
No was injured and no property was taken, police said.
