European operator MSC Cruises plans to build two more giant cruise ships.
Each ship — part of MSC’s Meraviglia-Plus class of vessels — will feature 2,444 cabins and accommodate nearly 6,300 passengers.
They’ll also have a classic and contemporary fine art museum — the first of its kind at sea, according to MSC.
Delivery dates for the ships are October 2019 and December 2020, MSC said. The ships represent an investment of $1.7 billion under an existing contract with the STX France shipyard
MSC originally announced the order of its first two Meraviglia class of vessels with STX France in March 2014, with an option for two more. These first two ships will be delivered in 2017 and 2019.
