Lincolnshire police arrested a boy who attends Stevenson High School on Jan. 28, after he allegedly brought a knife and a stun gun to school.
The arrest took place after a small scuffle in the school between that teen and another boy, Sgt. Kimberly Covelli said. Both are juveniles, and as such, Covelli declined to give any further identifying data.
According to Covelli, the two boys got into an altercation during the school day — a “very minor thing, boys being boys,” as she described it, but still serious enough that the Stevenson staff members who broke it up called the police.
Covelli said it was Stevenson’s staff who found that one of the boys had a knife and a “stun gun.”
She said the reports from the arrests were still incomplete, and that she did not yet know the size or nature of the knife or the stun gun, why the teen brought them, how or where Stevenson officials found them, or what caused the squabble.
Officers arrested both teens, charging one with unlawful use of a weapon, and the other with disorderly conduct, according to a police report.
The report said that officers released both teens to their parents after processing.
Stevenson officials did not immediately return a call for comment.
It’s the second time in as many months that police were called to the Lincolnshire high school on a weapons case. On Dec. 4, police arrested and charged Lamont Glenn, a 17-year-old junior from Buffalo Grove, after he allegedly brought an unloaded revolver to the school.
