A coyote got stuck in the vestibule of a Kohl’s department store in Valparaiso, Ind., over the weekend.
The coyote entered the first set of doors and employees locked a second set of doors, trapping the animal in the vestibule Saturday evening, authorities said.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officer Nicole Baumann said the coyote was hiding behind a trash can when she arrived around 7:30 p.m.
She said the first set of doors was open, but the coyote was scared and didn’t understand it could escape that way.
Baumann and two Valparaiso police officers helped steer the coyote out, she said. It did not appear to be harmed.
