An Aurora woman said a man pointed what looked like a weapon at her after she heard gunshots Saturday night, Aurora police said.

Around 6:40 p.m. Jan. 9, police were called to the 500 block of Clark Street for reports of shots fired.

When they arrived on the scene, police met with a woman who reported seeing several men running from the area, Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.

Ferrelli said the woman heard several loud bangs when she was inside her home. She looked out the window and saw three Hispanic men in their late teens or early 20s running through her yard.

The woman said she yelled at the men, and one of them turned around and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at her before running away.

According to Ferrelli, police searched the neighborhood and learned that several other residents reported hearing loud bangs, but weren’t sure if they were gunshots. Nobody was injured, and nothing appeared to have been struck by bullets. Police did not locate any shell casings at the scene, Ferrelli said.

Witnesses said that a small gray sedan with a large spoiler was seen leaving the area westbound on Clark Street after the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
