An anonymous message left on the Kendall County Crime Stoppers tip line led to the recent arrest of three teens who are now charged with damaging multiple vehicles last summer at an apartment complex in an unincorporated area near Oswego.
Kendall County Sheriff’s Department deputies said the investigation began July 1 when several vehicle owners found vulgar comments and images carved into their cars, which were parked in a lot at the Shore Heights apartment complex on Light Road.
During the course of their investigation into the damage, detectives received an anonymous call to the Crime Stoppers hotline, a Kendall County news release said.
Detectives followed up on the lead, and three teens have now been charged with criminal damage to property.
Taken into custody where two 14-year-old boys from Oswego, and a 13-year-old Aurora boy.
Kendall County Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization which is partially funded through donations from the public.
