Chicago’s speed cameras have generated nearly 8,000 citations issued to public employees and school bus drivers since the program began in October 2013 under Mayor Rahm Emanuel. In most cases, the employee is responsible for the fine. Here is a breakdown of the speeding tickets by public agency.

Police: At 2:30 p.m. on June 11, 2014, a gray unmarked Chicago Police car was clocked at 45 mph in a 20-mph zone, with no emergency lights, near Lane Tech High School.

School bus: At 8:28 a.m. on May 22, 2014, a school bus was clocked doing 58 mph in a 20-mph zone near Orr High School.
