After losing to Naperville North in the 42nd annual Jack Tosh Holiday Classic opener on Saturday, Dec. 26, Timothy Christian boys basketball coach Jack LeGrand listed a few goals for his team for the second half of the season.
One of them seemed obvious after playing the Huskies.
“Offensively, we need more balance,” LeGrand said.
Junior Joey Davidson scored more than half of Timothy’s points as the Huskies defeated Timothy 59-21 at York to advance to the second round Monday, Dec. 28. Naperville North limited one of Timothy’s leading scorers, Ben Lodewyk, to three points.
Timothy (5-5) will play Waubonsie Valley (2-9) at 1 p.m. Monday in the second round of the consolation bracket.
Davidson scored 14 points, including his team’s first 13 before Lodewyk’s 3-pointer with 2 minutes, 38 seconds made it 44-16 for the Huskies (6-2).

“We have struggled a little bit on all cylinders,” LeGrand said. “They shut down Lodewyk. Part of the credit belongs to their defense.”
