Two people were injured in a head-on vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Aurora, police said.
According to crash reports, Pamela Alikhan, no age or address provided by police, was traveling westbound on Butterfield Road near Beverly Drive when she veered into the eastbound lane, striking a vehicle driven by Barbara Huffman, no age or address provided, head-on.
Both vehicles’ air bags were deployed and both cars had heavy front-end damage, police said.
Police said Alikhan was pulled from her smoking vehicle by witnesses, and was taken to an Aurora hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Alikhan told police that she has multiple medical issues and did not know what caused her to veer into oncoming traffic. She said she does not remember blacking out prior to the crash, police said.
Huffman was found pinned inside her vehicle. She was extricated by the Aurora Fire Department and also transported to an Aurora hospital with injuries.
Alikhan was charged with improper lane usage, police said.
