Lincolnshire police say that a three-month investigation has led to charges against three men in a computer fraud ring that could have involved 1,600 victims.

After a series of identity theft cases in their communities, police from Lincolnshire and Naperville worked with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in a long investgiation. Lincolnshire police said they traced leads to a residence in south suburban South Holland. On Dec. 2, the agencies used a search warrant to investigate a house on Parkside Avenue.

“During the search, police recovered the personal identifying information of over 1,600 potential victims,” a statement from Lincolnshire police said.

The search also found machines commonly used to make fake identifications and fraudulent documents, police said.

Three men were arrested and charged:

* Glynn L. Ford, 28, of South Holland, who had a Lake County warrant for felony identity theft and felony computer fraud, and an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant for a parole violation.

* Cameron J. Taylor, 28, of St. Louis, who had a Lake County warrant for felony identity theft and felony computer fraud.

* Devon M. Montgomery, 23, of South Holland, who was charged with felony identity theft.

Calls to the three men charged were not returned as of Friday morning.
