Bradley Filerman, 21, of the 700 block of Prescott Drive, Roselle, was arrested Nov. 24 and charged with aggravated criminal sex abuse to an underage victim, grooming, traveling to meet a minor, indecent solicitation of a child over the Internet, and child luring.
Elmwood Park Police Det. Mark Astrella said the parents of the victim originally took their allegations about Filerman to police in DuPage County, but it became an Elmwood Park Police Department case because the alleged incidents took place in the village.
Astrella said that on two occasions between August and September 2015, Filerman had sexual contact with the girl.
“He picked her up from a family member in town,” he said.
Astrella said Filerman allegedly picked up the girl using his employer’s company van. He worked for a pest control company, according to Astrella.
“On two occasions he picked her up and went to a secluded area and engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with the girl in the van,” Astrella said.
Filerman knew the girl’s family, Astrella said, and they were aware of his attraction to the girl.
“The parents discovered email chats between Filerman and their daughter,” Astrella said. “He was warned by the parents to stay away but he didn’t.”
Astrella said prior to the arrest, Filerman had no criminal record.
