A few weeks ago I spent some time driving around Wyoming while visiting my friend and college classmate Alan Rogers, who’s now the managing editor for photo and digital at the Star-Tribune in Casper.
It had been years since we really had a chance to hang out and upon my arrival we decided the best course of action would be a good old fashioned road trip. Alan had a good feeling about Jackson. The route was a gorgeous one taking us though Grand Teton National Park with plenty of time to stop and see the sights along the way.
I lived for a year in Utah and interned for a summer in Colorado, so the west was nothing particularly new to me. However, after living in Chicago for the past several years, there were some unexpected things that surprised me. I always forget until I’m in a place like Wyoming how vast much the country is and it’s almost unusual to live in a place like Chicago with people stacked on top of each other.
