Cards Against Humanity is known for its raunchy card game and for getting people to cough up cash for pretty much anything, including a $6 box of “literal feces.”
This year, though, the Chicago-based game company may have outdone itself — with a Black Friday promotion called “Give Cards Against Humanity $5.” The deal is self-explanatory: You pay them $5 and receive absolutely nothing in return.
“On Black Friday, everybody is selling something,” the company wrote on its website. “We’re the only company to offer the superior Black Friday experience of buying nothing.”
A disclaimer checkbox on the site reads: “I understand I am paying Cards Against Humanity $5 and receiving nothing in return.”
The company did imply in the FAQ there would be news to come about where the money would go. In response to the question of what would be done with the money, it said: “That’s for us to know and you to find out. We’ll make the announcement soon.”
By late morning, the “amazing offer” had raked in $21,980.
