Prosecutors have made an offer to one of three men charged in connection to the 2014 shooting inside an Aurora KFC restaurant.
Chase West, 21, of Aurora, remains held in Kane County Jail on $1.5 million bail charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, attempted robbery and possession of a weapon by a felon relating to the September 2014 incident at the KFC on East New York Street.
Authorities have said West and Claude Jackson, who faces similar charges, entered the restaurant and demanded money. When the three employees said they couldn’t access the cash register, Jackson fired single shots at each employee, wounding one employee in the stomach, a second in the leg and the third in the arm and body, authorities said at the time. After the shooting, the two men fled to a waiting Cadillac Escalade with 27-year-old Joshua Scott behind the wheel, police said.
Aurora police and Kane County sheriff’s deputies arrested the trio at a Liberty Street residence where the SUV was located. All three have pleaded not guilty. Jackson and Scott are each scheduled to return to court on Dec. 3.

During a Wednesday hearing, Assistant State’s Attorney Jody Gleason told Kane County Judge Susan Clancy Boles that an offer to resolve the case had been extended to West and his attorney, Ron Haskell, who noted he would review with West the provisions of the proposed agreement, which prompted Boles to set a Dec. 22 hearing for a possible plea or set a trial date.
