Reasonable weather brought dozens of families and hundreds of people to Lincolnshire’s North Park for the village’s annual Boo Bash fall festival.
Some made quite a haul to take part. Gabriela Uribe came from Mundelein with her 4-year-old daughter Ashley, who dressed as a witch, 5-year-old Sammy, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and 7-year-old Delmar, wearing firefighter’s gear. Gabriela said she passed up events that were closer to their home to bring the three to Boo Bash.
“Yeah, I know, it’s a longer drive,” she said. “This is the best event around.”
The event included tractor-pulled hay-rack rides — with an optional walk through a haunted forest — outdoor movies in the warm evening, inflatable play features, mini-pumpkin decoration and more.

“It’s way better than what we’ve done in the past,” said Litsa Kubiak, the Vernon Hills mother of 3-year-old Madelyn, dressed as Supergirl.
Madelyn said she brought her costume to Vernon Hills to see how she would compare with the plentiful animals, cartoon characters and crime-fighters.
“I like superheroes,” she said.
