The Cubs have another reason to celebrate.
2016 will mark a century of the Cubs playing their home games at Wrigley Field, and on Thursday the team unveiled a new logo to commemorate the milestone.
In 2014, the Cubs celebrated 100 years since Wrigley Field opened, and in 2015 they advanced to the National League Championship Series, which unfortunately is not a regular occurrence.
The Cubs franchise played in five different ballparks between 1876 and 2015 before moving into Wrigley in 1916. And naturally the commemorative logo will appear on merchandise beginning this offseason. Additional plans to mark the occasion will be announced at a later date.
