UPDATE: Due to overwhelming demand, concert promoters have moved Kendrick Lamar’s Kunta Groove Sessions show on Thursday, Nov. 5 from Concord Music Hall to Riviera Theatre. All previously bought tickets will be honored. Check here for ticket links (which go onsale at 5:00 p.m.) and more details.

Just days after Kendrick Lamar headlined 107.5 WGCI’s Big Jam Sunday night at United Center, he’s announced a new show and it’s next week! Whoa!

On Thursday, Nov. 5, Lamar will bring his “First Annual Kunta’s Groove Sessions,” an intimate and jazzy performance with his backing band the Wesley Theory, to Concord Music Hall Riviera Theatre. He’ll also be bringing his TDE labelmate Jay Rock with him, making it an absolutely stacked night for forward-thinking hip-hop.

This will be the most up close and personal look Chicago has had at the rap mastermind since he headlined Congress Theater in 2012, before “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” came out. So yeah, this is a must-see if not the must-see show of the year, especially considering he’ll play the hits from “To Pimp A Butterfly.” Tickets for the 18+ show go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday and will run you anywhere from $50 to $350, if you’re fancy and want a swanky VIP package.
