Oswego police are investigating the Sunday night burglary of an LA Tan, which is possibly related to two similar incidents that occurred in Aurora last week.
According to Oswego police, officers were dispatched to the business, 2300 block of Route 30, around 9:19 a.m. for reports of a burglar alarm that had been triggered.
Police determined someone entered the tanning salon through a shattered window and stole cash out of the business’ registers. Anyone with information about this incident should call Oswego police at 630-551-7300.
Aurora police are also investigating two similar burglaries that occurred at LA Tan salons in their jurisdiction last week.
The first burglary occurred around 10:27 p.m. on Oct. 18 at an LA Tan in the 2100 block of West Galena Boulevard, Ferrelli said.
The second incident occurred at another LA Tan, this time around 10:14 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 400 block of Eola Road.
Ferrelli said that, like the Oswego burglary, the burglar in both Aurora cases also smashed a window to gain access to cash registers at the front of the store.
The burglar in the Galena Boulevard incident was described as a man wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt that covered his face. He was also wearing dark pants and gloves. Ferrelli said he was about 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds.
According to Ferrelli, the suspect in the Eola Road burglary had a similar physical description and was wearing similar clothes.
