OK, this is the one time when bunny ears are perfectly acceptable in photos.
In the search for a new mascot, Trix is hosting a casting call and asking owners of photogenic pets with bunny ears (real or fake) to upload pics to www.RealTrixRabbit.com through Nov. 8.
If you don’t own a real rabbit but constantly post your dog’s photo to Instagram or your dog has her own account (you know who you are), put some bunny ears on the pup for a chance to replace the cartoony Trix rabbit with a real furry creature to feature on limited cereal boxes.
The contest is part of a marketing campaign launched this week to mark the cereal’s new recipe using natural ingredients instead of artificial ones.
The new Trix formula won’t include high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, or colors from artificial sources. That means fewer colors in the bowl. Don’t expect to see the green puffs when the tweaked recipe hits stores nationwide in January 2016.

General Mills will use fruit and vegetable juice to create the red and purple color cereal, turmeric extract for the yellow color and annatto extract for the orange color.
So, hop to it and give the Trix rabbit a break. After all, that bunny has been working for Trix since 1958.
