One person has died and two others were critically injured after a car slammed into a semi in Harvey.
Update at 9:17 a.m. Nov. 3, 2015: Two people died as a result of the accident. One was identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as William D. Curry, 26, of the 14800 block of Lincoln Avenue in Harvey; he was pronounced dead at 4:57 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The other was identified by the medical examiner as Brian McChristian, 26, of the 15800 block of South Halsted Street in Harvey; he was pronounced dead at 11:59 a.m. on Oct. 21, 2015.
Police say the car was traveling on 159th Street when it collided with the truck and became wedged underneath the trailer, trapping the three people inside the car.
Police say speeding may have caused the crash.
One person in the car died at the scene and two others were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
