There’s been a lot of controversy recently about whether or not Drake’s new single “Hotline Bling” is a rip-off of Virginia crooner D.R.A.M.’s arguably superior “Cha Cha.” It totally is, but this post isn’t about that. Instead, it’s about how “Hotline Bling,” a fun R&B number with a surprisingly effective sample of Hammond organ-led music (Timmy Thomas’ “Why Can’t We Live Together”), became the most hilarious thing on the Internet right now.

Despite being on top of his game as an artist and rapper, Drake has always been a little goofy. His video for “Hotline Bling” capitalized on this goofiness, showcasing cornball dance moves executed with endearing earnestness. Note: His dancing actually might be good, but because it’s over an organ music sample and no one looks good dancing over organ music, he seems especially dorky. That’s fine—it’s a great video not despite the dancing but because of it. It’s so fun to watch, and it’s even easier to parody as the clips below prove.

With the Cubs slowly breaking my heart over the course of this week, stupid Drake memes are the only thing that’s going to cheer me up. Watch the song’s actual video below and try not to laugh.
